Looking ahead, UMC stated that there has been no strong recovery in demand in the third quarter. The company is expected to hold a corporate briefing on July 26th, which will explain the operating results of the second quarter and the outlook for the third quarter.

UMC previously said that because market demand is still depressed and customers continue to adjust inventory, there is no clear sign of recovery. It is expected that wafer shipments in the second quarter and the average U.S. dollar price (ASP) will remain stable in the first quarter, Gross margin is estimated to maintain 34~36%, growth rate is estimated to maintain about 71~73%, and annual capital expenditure remains unchanged at $3 billion.
