According to foreign media reports, it is rumored that AMD may become the first 3nm process customer of Samsung's foundry business. The reason is that its partner TSMC has a close relationship with Apple, making AMD consider choosing Samsung to deliver 3nm process orders. In addition to AMD, Qualcomm is also interested in Samsung's 3nm process.
Previously, TSMC executives stated that the 3nm process will be launched in the second half of 2022. Samsung announced that the 3nm process using GAA technology is expected to be mass-produced in the first half of 2022, earlier than TSMC.
