According to TrendForce's latest research report, driven by continued strong demand, coupled with the increase in the supply of upstream materials such as IC and TCON, notebook computer panel shipments in the third quarter of 2021 hit a record high again, reaching 72.27 million units, a quarterly increase 7.1%.


TrendForce said that thanks to the effect of the housing economy, notebook panel shipments from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2021 continue to hit record highs, but demand has already appeared weak. At present, the business sector still maintains high demand, but the consumer sector is The demand for Chromebooks has declined, and as the demand for Chromebooks is downgraded, the shipments of its mainstream 11.6-inch panels have also declined, reaching 10.88 million in the third quarter, a decrease of 28.3% in the quarter, and it is expected to go further in the fourth quarter Reduce. In addition, due to the strong demand in the business sector, panel makers quickly switched to 14-inch and 15.6-inch panels.
