Wireless communication technology patents involved! American NPE Longhorn IP grandchild sued Xiaomi in Germany

Recently, the American non practicing entity (NPE) Longhorn IP released news that Ox Mobile Technologies GmbH, a German subsidiary of Ox Mobile Technologies LLC (OMT), had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Xiaomi in the Munich District Court of Germany on September 30, 2022.
It is reported that the patent involved in the case is the European patent EP 2068 582 B1, entitled "Handover access method and device based on random intervention channel". The patent relates to wireless communication technology and covers the essential features of the standard.
According to the public information, OMT has obtained a series of patents from a major Chinese telecom equipment and smartphone manufacturer. Its portfolio includes assets related to 4G/LTE covering the world and Chinese assets related to smartphone implementation.
