Infineon Expands Its Secure Authentication Portfolio with New ID Key S USB Token
Infineon Technologies AG has unveiled its latest addition to its USB-based hardware authentication portfolio — the Infineon ID Key S USB. This new solution further strengthens the company’s lineup of USB tokens, security dongles, cryptographic keys, and hardware-based identity authenticators.
Designed to address a broad range of USB and USB/NFC authentication applications, the ID Key S USB combines the robust security, performance, and reliability of Infineon’s SLC38 security controller with a highly integrated USB bridge controller. This system-in-package (SiP) solution delivers enhanced flexibility for developers while simplifying implementation and reducing the bill of materials and associated costs.

Designed for Versatile Security Use Cases
The ID Key S USB is engineered to support a wide array of authentication scenarios, including:

At the core of the device lies a 100 MHz 32-bit CPU and 24 kB RAM, enabling rapid and secure execution of embedded applications. With up to 800 kB of non-volatile memory, the device can securely store large amounts of sensitive data, cryptographic keys, software packages, and multiple applications — all while maintaining high operational performance across use cases.
Security is paramount: the ID Key S USB is Common Criteria (CC) EAL 6+ certified, the highest assurance level for commercial security products. It also complies with FIPS 140-3 hardware requirements, allowing customers to pursue FIPS 140-3 certification for their end solutions.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the ID Key S USB maintains a compact 4 x 4 x 0.85 mm footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained hardware tokens and secure mobile form factors.
