TDK Expands C Series MLCCs with Industry-Leading 100V, 1μF Capacitor in 1608 Size

June 2025 – TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has announced the expansion of its commercial-grade C Series multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) with a new product in the 1608 size (1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8 mm). This new component offers a rated voltage of 100V and capacitance of 1μF, featuring X7R temperature characteristics. Within this size and specification range, the capacitor achieves the highest capacitance currently available in the market for 100V-rated MLCCs*. Mass production is scheduled to begin in June 2025.
As 48V systems become increasingly prevalent in AI servers, energy storage units, and a variety of industrial equipment, the demand for compact, high-capacitance 100V-rated MLCCs used in power lines has grown significantly.
This latest addition to the C Series achieves ten times the capacitance of conventional components of the same size by optimizing both materials and structural design. As a result, it helps reduce the number of capacitors needed per circuit and saves board space, contributing to component reduction and system miniaturization.
